Alabama wing Rylan Griffen has committed to Kansas, he told ESPN's Jeff Borzello and Jonathan Givony.

"I chose Kansas because coach (Bill) Self and the coaching staff are going to push me to be the best player I can be," said Griffen. "I think I fit in because they said they needed shooting. I think I can help them in that area. I think I can help them with perimeter defense and help get stops and help carry on the same winning culture they've always had."

Griffen turned into a key contributor with Alabama this past season, jumping from 5.9 points per game in his freshman campaign to 11.2 this season as a sophomore. He started 33 games and shot 39.2% from three.

Griffen recorded 19 points and five 3-pointers in Alabama's Sweet 16 win over No. 1 North Carolina, and he notched 13 points and eight assists to beat Clemson en route to the Crimson Tide's first Final Four.

Kansas has been active in the transfer portal after losing in the Round of 32 to Gonzaga, adding South Dakota State's Zeke Mayo, Florida's Riley Kugel, and Wisconsin's AJ Storr. Including Griffen, all four transfers shot at least 34% from deep in their college careers while making at least one three a game this past season.
