Report: Syracuse to play against Boeheim's son in season opener
Syracuse will host Cornell in its 2017-18 season opener, a source told Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports, which means Jim Boeheim will open the campaign against his son.
Jimmy Boeheim, the son of Syracuse's legendary coach, will be a freshman on the Big Red this year. His first collegiate game will take place against his father's team inside the Carrier Dome.
Syracuse extended its coach's contract back in March, and will be looking to rebound from the 19-15 mark it posted last season.
