Moritz Wagner to make Magic season debut Sunday
Orlando Magic forward Moritz Wagner is available for Sunday's matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans, the team announced Saturday.
Wagner hasn't played since tearing his left ACL in December 2024 against the Miami Heat.
The Michigan product was emerging as a Sixth Man of the Year candidate prior to his injury, averaging 12.9 points on 56.2% shooting to go along with 4.9 boards and 1.4 assists per contest across 30 appearances in 2024-25.
His 1.8% steal percentage ranked in the 90th percentile among big men, per Cleaning the Glass.
Wagner should provide a boost to the Magic's 25th-ranked bench scoring unit.
The Los Angeles Lakers selected Wagner with the No. 25 overall pick in 2018. He also played for the Washington Wizards and Boston Celtics before signing with the Magic late in the 2020-21 campaign.
