Magic's Suggs out indefinitely with knee injury
Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs is sidelined indefinitely after an MRI revealed a Grade 1 MCL contusion in his right knee, the team announced Saturday.
Suggs sustained the injury during Friday's contest against the Chicago Bulls. The fifth-year floor general was driving to the basket when Bulls center Jalen Smith fouled him and subsequently landed on him.
Jalen Suggs injury clearly could've been avoided if they just called the Dosunmu foul on the gather.

Suggs' return to play will depend on how he responds to treatment.
Veteran guard Tyus Jones will likely slide into the starting lineup during Suggs' absence.
Orlando drafted Suggs with the No. 5 overall pick in 2021. The Gonzaga product has been an effective defender throughout his career, earning NBA All-Defensive second-team honors in 2023-24.
However, Suggs has struggled to stay healthy, making 70-plus appearances just once in five seasons. He recently missed seven games due to a hip contusion.
Suggs is averaging 15 points, 4.7 assists, 3.7 boards, and 1.9 steals across 23 outings this season. The Magic are allowing 9.6 more points per 100 possessions when Suggs is off the floor.
