SGA to miss 1st game of season vs. Jazz due to elbow issue
Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Utah Jazz due to left elbow bursitis.
The absence will be Gilgeous-Alexander's first of the 2025-26 campaign.
The Thunder will also be without guards Lu Dort, Alex Caruso, and Isaiah Joe due to various injuries. Center Isaiah Hartenstein was also ruled out because of a right calf strain.
The reigning MVP scored 33 points on 10-of-12 shooting in three quarters during Friday's 132-111 victory over the Dallas Mavericks, Oklahoma City's 14th straight win.
Gilgeous-Alexander is averaging 32.8 points, 6.4 assists and 4.7 rebounds and has scored at least 20 points in 95 straight games.
After facing the Jazz, the 22-1 Thunder will have two days off ahead of Wednesday's visit from the Phoenix Suns.
