Report: Jazz finalizing buyout with Clarkson
The Utah Jazz are finalizing a contract buyout with Jordan Clarkson, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.
The Jazz finalized the buyout Monday, and Clarkson will reportedly target contending teams for his next destination, adds Charania.
Clarkson was set to earn $14.3 million on the final year of his contract.
Utah acquired Clarkson from the Cleveland Cavaliers in December 2019. The former second-round pick has been among the NBA's top reserve players since joining the Jazz, averaging 17.5 points, 3.6 boards, and 3.3 assists across 342 appearances.
Clarkson won Sixth Man of the Year honors in 2020-21 and finished fourth in the race the following season.
The 33-year-old averaged 16.2 points and shot 36.2% from deep during the 2024-25 campaign.
The Jazz waived Johnny Juzang earlier Wednesday and traded Collin Sexton to the Charlotte Hornets over the weekend to potentially open up playing time for its young guards.
