Dallas Mavericks CEO Rick Welts is confident the organization can get back on the fanbase's good side after trading away Luka Doncic last month.

Welts delivered a message to Mavs fans during the broadcast of Tuesday night's game against the New York Knicks, promising to earn back any trust the team has lost.

"In time, wins and losses will tell whether the deal was a good deal or a bad deal," Welts said, via Bleacher Report. "I just am gonna promise to our fans right now. Whatever trust we have lost, or whatever concerns they have, we're gonna earn it back. Because we're gonna do this the right way and we're gonna win championships."

The Mavs have received plenty of backlash since the blockbuster trade, which saw Doncic dealt to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for a package that included Anthony Davis. The team also announced recently that season ticket prices will increase for 2025-26 due to "ongoing investments in the team and fan engagement."

The Mavs fell 128-113 to the Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday, marking their 11th loss in the last 15 games. They currently sit 11th in the Western Conference standings at 35-38.
