Steph doubtful he'll team up with LeBron in NBA: 'Probably not'
Stephen Curry and LeBron James had the opportunity to team up for the first time at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where they led the United States men's basketball team to a gold medal.
While there's been plenty of talk about the two superstars potentially teaming up in the NBA, too, Curry doesn't see it happening.
"Probably not," the Golden State Warriors star said when asked about the possibility in an interview with ESPN's Malika Andrews. "But I think the what-ifs and all that type of stuff, we just kind of leave that for whatever platform people want to talk about it. We just hoop."
Curry went on to admit that the thought of retirement is on his mind more these days.
"It's okay to accept and acknowledge that the end is near at whatever point, but only because it allows you to enjoy what's happening right now," he said. "But I think the more you talk about it, the more you acknowledge it, it levels up just the sense of urgency of the moment now."
The 36-year-old, who's in the midst of his 16th NBA season, signed a one-year, $62.6-million extension with the Warriors in August that keeps him under contract through the 2026-27 campaign.
James, 39, is under contract with the Los Angeles Lakers through 2025-26 but holds a player option for next season.
