Celtics' Mazzulla: I 'add' to NBA's bad ratings, don't watch games
Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla is accepting some of the blame for the NBA's decline in television ratings this season.
When asked Wednesday what he thinks could be contributing to the poor TV numbers, Mazzulla acknowledged he doesn't tune into games.
"I add to that, I don't watch NBA games," Mazzulla told Noa Dalzell of CLNS Media. "I'm just as much of a problem as anyone else is."
NBA commissioner Adam Silver acknowledged the league's declining TV ratings earlier this week, but doesn't believe it's because of a lack of fan interest, citing high attendance numbers and a large social media audience.
As for why Mazzulla doesn't watch games, he provided a simple reason.
"I don't like watching the games," he said.
The Celtics will look to improve upon their 21-5 record Thursday when they host the Chicago Bulls.
