Grizzlies' Edey comes back from ankle injury vs. Lakers
Memphis Grizzlies big man Zach Edey came off the bench Sunday against the Los Angeles Lakers after missing 12 games with an ankle issue.
The Canadian center had been out of the lineup since rolling his ankle Nov. 17 against the Denver Nuggets.
Edey is fourth in points per game (11.1) and second in rebounds per contest (6.9) among rookies. He has been efficient offensively, shooting 61% from the field.
Jenkins inserted fellow Canadian Brandon Clarke into the starting five shortly before Edey's ankle injury, bumping the two-time Naismith Player of the Year to the second unit. Clarke is averaging 9.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 0.6 blocks as a starter.
The Grizzlies are 10-2 since Edey went down with injury. They are riding a four-game winning streak heading into Sunday's contest with the Lakers.
