Philadelphia 76ers wing Paul George hyperextended his left knee in Wednesday's 117-111 defeat to the Memphis Grizzlies.

George will undergo further testing on his knee Thursday, according to ESPN. He previously hyperextended his knee during the preseason, which sidelined him for the season's first five games.

Wednesday's matchup was the first time George, Joel Embiid, and Tyrese Maxey were active together. Embiid missed the opening nine contests of the campaign as he rehabilitated a knee injury and served a suspension for pushing a media member. Maxey returned from a six-game absence stemming from a hamstring injury.

George recorded two points on 1-of-6 shooting from the field in 17 minutes against the Grizzlies. The nine-time All-Star signed to a four-year, $212-million maximum contract with the franchise over the offseason.

The Sixers' defeat dropped them to 2-12, further cementing the club as the 15th seed in the Eastern Conference.
