Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon agreed to a four-year, $133-million contract extension that includes a player option for the 2028-29 season and a trade kicker, his representation told ESPN's Shams Charania.

To facilitate the extension, Gordon picked up his $23-million player option for 2025-26. The 29-year-old will be paid his maximum salary for the following three seasons in addition to bonuses, according to Charania.

Gordon is entering his fifth season with the Nuggets. He previously spent seven seasons with the Orlando Magic after being drafted fourth overall in 2014.

Over his tenure with Denver, Gordon has averaged 14.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 2.5 assists. He played a pivotal role in the team's championship run in 2023, contributing 13.3 points, six rebounds, and 2.6 assists.

The Nuggets' core of Gordon, Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, and Michael Porter Jr. are all signed through at least the 2026-27 season. The franchise lost veteran wing Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to the Magic during the offseason, breaking up one of the NBA's best lineups over the past two seasons.

Denver kicks off its season Thursday at home against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
