Pacers sign McConnell to 4-year, $45M extension
Indiana Pacers guard T.J. McConnell agreed to a four-year, $45-million contract extension, his agents told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
McConnell joined Indiana in free agency five years ago. He had one year remaining on his previous contract with the club.
The undrafted floor general out of Arizona has carved out a significant reserve role with the Pacers.
McConnell averaged a career-high 10.2 points and 5.5 assists over 71 appearances last season. The 32-year-old finished tied for seventh in Sixth Man of the Year voting.
McConnell stepped up for Indiana during its run to the East finals last season, tallying 11.8 points and 5.1 assists per contest.
The Pacers spent the offseason keeping the core of the 2023-24 squad together. The front office gave lucrative extensions to two-time All-NBA forward Pascal Siakam and rising guard Andrew Nembhard. Forward Obi Toppin was also re-signed to a four-year, $60-million deal.
