Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry posted a heartfelt goodbye to longtime teammate Klay Thompson after the latter reportedly signed with the Dallas Mavericks on Monday.

Curry took to Instagram to commemorate his fellow Splash Brother, paying homage to his jersey number with 30 pictures and finishing with a message.

"Gonna miss you (Klay). Even though we won't finish the journey together, what we did will never be done again. Couldn't have imagined a better run with you and (Draymond Green)," Curry wrote.

"Changed the whole Bay Area. Changed the way the game is played. Killa Klay at the center of it all. Thank you for everything bro. Go enjoy playing basketball and doing what you do. Splash Bros 4 life my guy."

Curry and Thompson had shared the floor in Golden State since 2011 and had spent their entire respective careers with the franchise until now. They won four NBA championships together with the Warriors.

Thompson signed a three-year, $50-million deal with the Mavericks through a sign-and-trade with Golden State and the Charlotte Hornets. The 34-year-old is coming off his third-lowest scoring campaign of his career, averaging 17.9 points per game on 38.7% shooting from deep.
