Cleveland Cavaliers forward Taurean Prince is expected to undergo season-ending surgery for an ankle injury, sources told The Athletic's Kelsey Russo.

The news comes one day after the team ruled out 2019 first-round pick Dylan Windler indefinitely due to a knee injury.

Forwards Cedi Osman and Lamar Stevens could see more minutes during Prince's absence.

Cleveland acquired Prince through the James Harden multi-team blockbuster in January.

The 6-foot-7 forward impressed during his first season with the Cavs, averaging 10.1 points and shooting 41.5% from deep over 29 appearances in 2020-21.

Prince is under contract through the 2021-22 campaign.

Cleveland plans to sign guard Jeremiah Martin to a two-way contract, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.
