Steph rushed to help resolve KD-Draymond rift
Stephen Curry was at home nursing a groin injury as Kevin Durant and Draymond Green's argument unfolded on live television during a Nov. 12 game against the Los Angeles Clippers.
The next day, the six-time All-Star rejoined the Golden State Warriors for their next home game. Though Curry couldn't play, he knew he needed to be with the team. At some point, he also visited Green at his house, Curry told Vincent Goodwill of Yahoo Sports.
"You gotta get right in it," Curry said. "You listen (while) understanding I don't have all the answers. I have some, but not all. It's important to know where everybody is coming from, to understand what's on their mind, with the stresses they're dealing with on and off the court so that we can help each other. For a little bit that was lost."
Durant and Green shared a heart-to-heart over wine ahead of the Warriors' matchup against the Mavericks on Nov. 17. That talk's been credited with repairing their relationship, but Curry admitted to Goodwill that his teammates' conflict could have become a crisis if other people didn't intervene.
"Many a team, many a championship run, has been derailed by egos and mismatched personalities and drama that never got solved," Curry said. "It's unfortunate, but we're not gonna be that situation."
The Warriors sit atop the Western Conference with a 41-16 record and are seeking their fourth NBA championship in five seasons.
