Bubba Wallace won Sunday's Hollywood Casino 400 Cup Series playoff race at Kansas Speedway, taking the lead with 43 laps remaining and never looking back.

It's the second race win of Wallace's career. Denny Hamlin finished second, and Christopher Bell placed third to complete the podium.

In finishing fifth last week and third this week, Bell has already secured his position in the next round of playoff races, which begins Sept. 25 at Texas Motor Speedway.

"Just so proud," Wallace said following the race, according to Mike Hembree of NBC Sports. "Pit crew was awesome today. We had one loose wheel. Just thankful. Thanks for the opportunity, and thankful to shut the hell up for a lot of people."

Wallace drives for the 23XI Racing team, which is co-owned by Michael Jordan as well as Hamlin, who finished just behind Wallace.

"It's cool to beat the boss," Wallace continued, "but man, we were just lights out today once we got to the lead, and it was a lot of fun."

It's the second straight playoff race where a non-playoff driver has won after Erik Jones triumphed at last week's Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway. The two results make next Saturday night's race at Bristol Motor Speedway increasingly crucial for the playoff field.

Several playoff drivers had especially rough performances on Sunday, with Kyle Busch finishing 26th, Tyler Reddick placing 35th, and Kevin Harvick crossing the line last.
