UFC bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili will defend his title against Sean O'Malley in the main event of UFC 316 in Newark, New Jersey, on June 7, CEO Dana White announced Tuesday.

The women's bantamweight title will also be defended in the co-main event, as champion Julianna Pena faces Kayla Harrison.

The headliner fight will be a rematch of UFC 306 when Dvalishvili won the bantamweight championship off O'Malley by unanimous decision. Dvalishvili has successfully defended the title once since, handing Umar Nurmagomedov his first MMA loss via unanimous decision at UFC 311 in January.

Dvalishvili is riding a 12-fight winning streak. He hasn't lost since being beaten by Ricky Simon via technical submission on a UFC Fight Night card in April 2018.

O'Malley hasn't appeared in the Octagon since dropping the title to Dvalishvili.

Pena's fight against Harrison will mark her first championship defense since capturing the bantamweight belt with a split-decision win over Raquel Pennington at UFC 307 in October 2024.

Harrison, an Olympic gold medallist in judo, owns an 18-1 MMA record and is 2-0 since making her UFC debut in April 2024 at UFC 300.
