Detroit Tigers center fielder Parker Meadows was carted off the field with an injury after colliding with teammate Riley Greene in the eighth inning of Thursday's game versus the Minnesota Twins.

Meadows was diagnosed with a concussion and will stay in Minneapolis overnight for observation, the team announced postgame, according to Chris McCosky of the Detroit News.

As Meadows and Greene simultaneously went to make a play on Josh Bell's line drive, their heads appeared to make contact. Greene held on for the catch, but Meadows fell to the ground and remained down for several minutes.

"When we got out there, it looked like he had bit his lip or inside his mouth, so there was some blood, and he was pretty out of it," manager A.J. Hinch said postgame, according to Jason Beck of MLB.com.

He added, "Those are scary collisions. You don't know what you're going to get when you get there. Obviously, we're going to get him checked out for everything, but this one worries me."

"It was a terrible feeling," Greene said. "I still feel terrible."

After being treated by medical personnel, Meadows was able to stand with assistance and reach the cart.

Kevin McGonigle entered the game for Meadows at shortstop, while Javier Báez shifted to center.

Minnesota went on to win 3-1, completing a four-game sweep of Detroit.
