Cincinnati Reds ace Hunter Greene is expected to be out until July after he undergoes a procedure to remove bone chips from his elbow Wednesday, reports Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer.

Greene had been dealing with right elbow discomfort dating back to last season and opted to undergo an MRI when the pain returned during spring training.

The 26-year-old went 7-4 with a 2.76 ERA across 19 starts last season. He struck out 132 batters in 107.2 innings pitched.

Cincinnati selected Green with the No. 2 overall pick in 2017. He earned his first All-Star nod during the 2024 campaign.
