Report: Tucker nearing FA decision, could sign as early as Thursday
The New York Mets aren't expecting All-Star outfielder Kyle Tucker to pick his next team until at least Thursday, according to Mike Puma of the New York Post.
The Mets are reportedly offering Tucker a short-term deal with an average annual value of $50 million.
The proposed contract is believed to be for three years. Yet, there was speculation Wednesday that New York could up its offer with an additional year.

The Mets could employ an unprecedented two outfielders making at least $50 million per season if Tucker goes to Queens. Juan Soto owns a $51-million AAV after inking his 15-year pact last offseason.
The Toronto Blue Jays have reportedly made a long-term offer to Tucker. However, the exact length and financial details aren't known.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are also believed to be the third finalist for the 28-year-old.
All three teams have reportedly met with Tucker during the offseason.
Tucker recorded 127 homers, 415 RBIs, and 96 stolen bases with a 144 wRC+ over 614 games since 2021. Only Soto and Aaron Judge have a higher fWAR than the two-time Silver Slugger among outfielders during that period.
