Report: Nationals hiring 31-year-old Kilambi as GM
The Washington Nationals are hiring Ani Kilambi as their new general manager, sources told ESPN's Jeff Passan.
The 31-year-old previously served as an assistant GM with the Philadelphia Phillies, overseeing the club's research and development department under president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski.
Kilambi joins a revamped and youthful Nationals front office led by 35-year-old Paul Toboni, who was hired as the team's president of baseball operations in September after working in the Boston Red Sox organization.
Washington fired its previous GM, Mike Rizzo, in July. Mike DeBartolo had been serving as the club's interim GM.
The Nationals finished last in the NL East with a 66-96 record in 2025. They've reportedly made starting pitcher MacKenzie Gore and shortstop CJ Abrams available for trade this winter.
