Report: Dodgers eyeing Bellinger reunion, won't be aggressive for Tucker
The Los Angeles Dodgers have shown interest in bringing free-agent outfielder Cody Bellinger back to where his career started, sources told Alden Gonzalez of ESPN.
Bellinger spent six years with the Dodgers between 2017 and 2022, winning NL MVP (2019), NL Rookie of the Year (2017), and a World Series title (2020) to go along with a Silver Slugger (2019), a Gold Glove (2019), and two All-Star selections (2017, 2019).
"Cody had a great, great experience here," agent Scott Boras said when asked if his client would be open to a return to L.A., according to Doug McKain of Dodgers Nation. "Rookie of the Year, MVP, and he was Hollywood ringing. ... I think that players who have those kinds of experiences over the years are always very welcoming of anywhere like that."
The New York Yankees publicly stated they want to re-sign the 30-year-old. Bellinger slashed .272/.334/.480 with 29 homers, 98 RBIs, and 4.9 fWAR over 152 games in 2025 in his only campaign in the Bronx.
The Dodgers aren't expected to aggressively pursue top free-agent outfielder Kyle Tucker, sources told Gonzalez. However, the team will reportedly monitor the four-time All-Star's market to see if a short-term deal with a high average annual value becomes enticing.
The two-time defending World Series champions could improve an outfield that consists of Teoscar Hernández, Tommy Edman, and Andy Pages heading into 2026.
