Baltimore Orioles closer Félix Bautista underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum and rotator cuff and is expected to miss 12 months, the team announced Wednesday.
Bautista was shut down for the season on Aug. 12 after the Orioles said the 30-year-old sustained a significant shoulder injury that needed further evaluation.
The former All-Star returned to Baltimore this season after missing the entire 2024 campaign while recovering from Tommy John surgery. He authored a 2.60 ERA and 13.0 K/9 in 35 appearances this year.
Bautista is under contract with the Orioles through 2028.
