With the 26th pick in the 2025 MLB Draft, the Philadelphia Phillies selected Gage Wood, a right-handed pitcher out of Arkansas.
Wood, 21, memorably authored a 19-strikeout no-hitter in the College World Series against Murray State to punctuate an impressive collegiate career.
Wood started as a closer in his freshman season but turned into a starter midway through his sophomore campaign. After a shoulder impingement prevented him from pitching for two months in his junior year, Wood wound up posting a 3.82 ERA and 0.90 WHIP over 37 2/3 innings while making 10 starts.
