Baltimore Orioles right-hander Grayson Rodriguez has been shut down for the year and won't pitch in the postseason, the club announced Wednesday, according to Jake Rill of MLB.com.

Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said that Rodriguez didn't suffer any setbacks after landing on the injured list in early August to due a right lat/teres strain. However, the 24-year-old's recovery wasn't progressing quickly enough to allow him to return this season.

"We're going to get him ready for 2025," Hyde said, according to Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun. "Just ran out of time with him and it's disappointing and tough, but he's so talented and a huge part of our rotation this year and going forward."

Rodriguez went 13-4 with a 3.86 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, and 10.0 K/9 over 116 2/3 innings (20 starts) this season.
