Report: Red Sox, Hill agree to minor-league deal
The Boston Red Sox and veteran left-hander Rich Hill agreed to a minor-league contract, a source told ESPN's Buster Olney.
Hill participated in a showcase for three teams, including the Red Sox, last Friday, according to WEEI's Rob Bradford.
The 44-year-old made 27 starts for the Pittsburgh Pirates and San Diego Padres last season, posting a 5.41 ERA over 146 1/3 innings.
Hill is no stranger to pitching in Boston, spending time with the team in 2022, 2015, and from 2010-12.

Hill had major-league offers from teams, including the Texas Rangers, in the offseason, according to Chris Cotillo of MassLive. However, he turned them down to focus on coaching his 12-year-old son Brice's Little League team this spring.
