Astros' Alvarez breaks scoreboard at Tropicana Field
Houston Astros slugger Yordan Alvarez has a reputation for doing serious damage - to baseballs and video boards.
While taking batting practice ahead of Tuesday's game against the Tampa Rays at Tropicana Field, the lefty masher caused some technical difficulties with an especially well-struck drive to right field.

The Rays eventually turned the board off and started the game with it dark, according to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times.
This isn't the first time Alvarez has damaged a scoreboard with his prodigious power. In 2019, as a rookie, he left his mark on the screen in right field at Minute Maid Park in Houston.

Alvarez laughed off the incident after the Astros' eventual 3-2 win.
"You're trying to get me in trouble, you're the ones who posted that picture," he said postgame, according to Brian McTaggart of MLB.com. "If there wasn't a video showing that it was me, then I don't know who it was. ... I'm not paying that bill."
The three-time All-Star has crushed 154 home runs across six MLB seasons, 25 of which are from this campaign.
