The Boston Red Sox have acquired right-hander Brad Peacock from the Cleveland Indians in exchange for cash considerations, the team announced Monday.

Peacock has made 11 Triple-A appearances this year, posting a 7.68 ERA and 5.12 FIP.

The 33-year-old spent the previous eight seasons with the Houston Astros. He acted as an effective swingman from 2016 to 2019, boasting a 3.48 ERA and 3.74 FIP while making 42 starts and 86 relief appearances.

Peacock will be eligible to play in the postseason if he's added to the active roster before Sept. 1.

The Red Sox possess the seventh-best pitching staff in the majors, according to FanGraphs WAR, and ace left-hander Chris Sale recently returned from the injured list.

The club currently occupies the second wild-card spot in the American League.
