Rays' Glasnow to undergo MRI for elbow inflammation
The Tampa Bay Rays announced ace Tyler Glasnow was removed from Monday's start against the Chicago White Sox after four innings due to right elbow inflammation, according to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times.
Rays manager Kevin Cash said postgame that Glasnow is slated to undergo an MRI on Tuesday.
Glasnow was seen stretching and flexing his arm while on the mound. Before exiting the battle for American League supremacy against the White Sox, the right-hander allowed two runs on three hits and one walk while striking out six over 53 pitches.

Ryan Thompson was summoned from the bullpen to begin the fifth frame.
Cash praised Glasnow for pointing out the discomfort himself, as none of the coaches noticed anything from the dugout.
Glasnow, 27, has cemented himself as one of the league's top pitchers this year, authoring a 2.66 ERA and 2.76 FIP over 14 starts, striking out 123 batters and walking 27 in 88 innings.
