Puig ready to play in 2021, 3 teams reportedly showing interest

Veteran outfielder Yasiel Puig, who didn't play in 2020, stated Tuesday that he's planning to return to the majors next season. The 29-year-old said on Twitter that he spent his time away from baseball plotting to return "in total shape, physically, mentally, and spiritually fit."

Puig has quickly become a target of multiple clubs seeking outfield help. The Boston Red Sox, Baltimore Orioles, and Houston Astros are all interested in signing him, sources told Mark Feinsand of MLB.com.
The Cuban agreed to a one-year contract with the Atlanta Braves shortly before the season started in July. The deal fell through days later after he tested positive for COVID-19.
In 2019, Puig slashed .267/.327/.458 with 24 homers, 84 RBIs, and 19 stolen bases over 149 games split between the Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Indians.
Puig recently switched agents and is now represented by Rachel Luba, whose other clients include reigning NL Cy Young Award winner Trevor Bauer.
