Palmer misses last-gasp sitter as Chelsea collapse in draw with Leeds
Chelsea's push for Champions League qualification took a hit Tuesday after Liam Rosenior's side surrendered a two-goal advantage in a 2-2 home draw with Leeds United.
Joao Pedro's cool finish and a Cole Palmer penalty gave the Blues a considerable advantage at Stamford Bridge, but they couldn't secure a fifth-straight Premier League win under head coach Rosenior.
Moises Caicedo conceded a penalty when he brought down Jayden Bogle, and Lukas Nmecha sent Robert Sanchez the wrong way from 12 yards. Noah Okafor equalized in the 73rd minute for Leeds after an error-strewn passage of play from Chelsea's defense.
Chelsea should've won the match right at the death. Malo Gusto deftly flicked the ball down the flank for Caicedo and the Ecuadorian pinged an inviting cross across the face of goal. Palmer met the ball from around three yards out, but somehow lifted his effort high over the bar.
