Report: Arsenal, Everton held talks with Ajax over Neres move
Arsenal and Everton are among several parties interested in Ajax winger David Neres, according to the Telegraph's Jason Burt.
Neres, who scored his side's lone goal in a midweek Champions League draw with Juventus, is expected to cost no less than £34.5 million, Burt reports.
Manchester United and Chelsea are also monitoring the pacey Brazilian, and Borussia Dortmund had a bid for the player rejected in January. Dortmund's interest in the right-sided winger is contingent on Jadon Sancho's future at the club, as the England teen has quickly become one of the most coveted talents in world football.
On the heels of a breakthrough campaign with Ajax that was rewarded with a maiden call-up to Brazil's senior team, Neres is one of several emerging stars likely to be plucked from Erik ten Hag's ranks.
Frenkie de Jong already agreed to a €75-million move to Barcelona, and fellow Dutchman Matthijs de Ligt appears set to follow his countryman to the Camp Nou in the summer. Donny van de Beek and shot-stopper Andre Onana have also drawn rave reviews this season for Ajax.
