The White Sox reportedly augmented their bullpen on Friday, signing veteran reliever Mitchell Boggs, who was non-tendered by the Rockies earlier this offseason, Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports.

Boggs, who twirled a tidy 2.21 ERA with a 1.05 WHIP in 2012, was a disaster last season, authoring a 8.10 ERA over 27 appearances between the Cardinals and Rockies. The 29-year-old issued 20 walks and yielded five home runs over just 23.1 innings, prompting the Rockies to non-tender him after the season.

The White Sox relief corps struggled in 2013, posting the fifth-highest earned run average in the American League, and will be without Addison Reed this season, as he was shipped to Arizona back in December.
