Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora wasn't impressed with Triston Casas after the first baseman attempted to steal third base following a double to begin the second inning.
"He just took off. There's no excuse, he knows it," Cora said postgame Tuesday after a 10-7 loss to the Cleveland Guardians. "We cannot push the envelope that way. We cannot do it. That's the bottom line. Twenty-seven outs are too valuable."
Casas has stolen one base in his career over 177 games.
The loss dropped the Red Sox to 2-6 at Fenway Park this season.
