Venus defeats Serena at Indian Wells
INDIAN WELLS, CA - MARCH 12: Serena Williams hugs Venus Williams after her loss to her sister during Day 8 of BNP Paribas Open on March 12, 2018 in Indian Wells, California. Venus Williams won 6-3, 6-4.

Chalk one up for Venus.

Venus Williams defeated her sister Serena in straight sets (6-3, 6-4) in third-round action at Indian Wells on Monday night, recording only her second win in the family affair since 2014.

The tournament was Serena's official return to tour after giving birth to her daughter, and after more than a year away, there's clearly some rust.

"It was a treat for everyone to see this match," Venus said. "I'm just lucky I've played more matches than her."

Venus' tournament continues Tuesday.
