Natasha Cloud has re-signed with the Washington Mystics on a multi-year contract extension, the team announced Wednesday.

Cloud will earn $565,000 over three years, Girls Talk Sports TV's Khristina Williams reports.

"As the point guard, she is the engine that drives us - our pace on offense, the start of our defense, the energy at practice on a daily basis," Mystics coach and general manager Mike Thibault said in a statement. "Her constant quest to improve herself and our team was manifested in our march to a championship."

Cloud averaged nine points, 5.6 assists, 2.5 rebounds, and one steal per game in 2019, helping pilot the Mystics to the franchise's first WNBA championship. The 5-foot-9 guard was named to the All-Defensive second team following the season.

Cloud opted out of the shortened 2020 campaign to focus on social justice efforts.
