Six-time All-Star Nneka Ogwumike re-signed with the Los Angeles Sparks, the team announced Tuesday.

Ogwumike, 30, has averaged 16.1 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.5 steals per game through nine seasons.

The Sparks have made the playoffs in each season since selecting the 6-foot-2 forward first overall out of Stanford in 2012. She was named the WNBA MVP in 2016, the same year she captured her first and only WNBA title to date.

"We are grateful to return one of the league’s generational talents and leaders," Sparks general manager and head coach Derek Fisher said in a statement. "Not only has Nneka won an MVP and championship on the court, but she is an MVP off the court for her pivotal work in the social justice movement and as WNBPA president."

L.A. has had a busy offseason of transition. Though perennial All-Stars Candace Parker and Chelsea Gray signed elsewhere, the Sparks did re-sign Ogwumike's younger sister, two-time All-Star Chiney Ogwumike, as well as WNBA legend Seimone Augustus and All-Defensive second-team selection Brittney Sykes. The team also added 2019 All-Star MVP Erica Wheeler, Amanda Zahui B., and Bria Holmes via free agency.
