The Seattle Storm have re-signed 11-time All-Star Sue Bird, the team announced Tuesday.

"It’s no secret how I feel about the city of Seattle and the Storm franchise. I’m a lifer and to be able to re-sign is extremely exciting," Bird said through the team. "I’m looking forward to getting back on the court with my teammates, and playing in front of our amazing fans."

Bird has spent her entire 18-year career with the Storm, claiming three championships.

In 2018, Bird averaged 10.1 points, 7.1 assists, and 1.1 steals per game while shooting 44.8% on 3-pointers, leading Seattle to the league title.

Bird then missed the entirety of the 2019 season after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on her left knee last May. She returned to live game action in November, appearing in an exhibition match versus Stanford for Team USA.

The 39-year-old enters the year ranking first in league history in games played (508), total minutes (16,173), and total assists (2,831). Despite being known more for her prowess as a passer, Bird also ranks eighth on the all-time scoring leaderboard (6,154 points), third among active players.
