The Big 12 announced Monday that it will stagger a return for voluntary on-campus sports activities, beginning with football on June 15.
Other voluntary on-campus fall sports activities can commence July 1, with basketball permissible as of July 6.
"Each institution should use its discretion to make the best decision for its student-athletes when determining when student-athletes return to campus prior to the first permissible date to begin voluntary activity," a Big 12 statement read.
Virtual or online supervised physical workouts are not allowed, regardless of location. Required virtual activities, including film study, will be limited to eight hours per week in all sports.
The conference's announcement follows that of the SEC and the Pac-12.
