Paul Pogba's participation in Thursday's Europa League meeting with AZ Alkmaar is at risk after the Manchester United midfielder aggravated an ankle injury in Monday's 1-1 draw with Arsenal, according to ESPN FC correspondent Rob Dawson.

Pogba apparently complained of pain following the stalemate at Old Trafford and is now set for assessment ahead of the midweek continental foray, Dawson reports.

The midfielder suffered an initial ankle knock on Aug. 31 against Southampton and missed three matches before returning for a League Cup win over Rochdale.

Pogba also withdrew from France's Euro 2020 qualifiers in early September against Albania and Andorra.

United make the Europa League trip to the Netherlands before returning to England to meet Newcastle at St. James' Park ahead of the international break.
