The Minnesota Frost defeated the Boston Fleet 8-1 Saturday to claim the final spot in the PWHL playoffs.
The Frost, Fleet, and Ottawa Charge were still alive for the third and fourth seeds entering Saturday's season finale. The Charge defeated Toronto to punch their ticket, while Minnesota snatched the other spot.
The Frost were three points back of the Fleet before the contest but owned the tiebreaker by virtue of more regulation wins.
Montreal wrapped up the No. 1 seed with Toronto's loss. The Victoire will have the opportunity to choose between the Charge and Frost to determine their first-round playoff opponent.
The playoffs begin May 7 in Toronto.
The Frost won the inaugural Walter Cup last season.
