Ann-Renee Desbiens is officially back in action.

The Montreal Victoire's star netminder got the start against Switzerland for Canada's second game at the 2025 IIHF Women's World Championship on Friday.

She turned aside all 17 shots she faced during the Canadians' 4-0 victory.

Desbiens suffered a lower-body injury during the Victoire's shootout loss to the Boston Fleet on March 18. She was helped off the ice after an awkward fall in the second period and missed three games for Montreal.

The Victoire activated Desbiens from long-term injured reserve Thursday, but Sceptres goalie Kristen Campbell took to the crease for Team Canada's tournament-opening 5-0 rout of Finland.

Desbiens is the PWHL's leader with 13 wins, a .932 save percentage, and a 1.85 goals-against average across 19 appearances for Montreal this season.

Three regular-season games remain on the Victoire's schedule after the Worlds, beginning April 26 against the Ottawa Charge. Montreal already punched its ticket to the playoffs in March.
