U.S. captain Zach Johnson has added Davis Love III as one of his vice captains for the 2023 Ryder Cup in Italy.

"The Ryder Cup is one of the truly special events in all of sports, and I am so honored to be named a vice captain in Italy in 2023," Love said in a statement.

The 58-year-old most recently captained the U.S. Presidents Cup team that defeated the Internationals 17.5-12.5 at Quail Hollow Club in September. Before that, he captained the 2016 and 2012 U.S. Ryder Cup teams. The 2023 trip to Europe will mark his fourth time as a vice captain at the event.

Love also has experience as a playing member of six Ryder Cup teams and played in the same amount of Presidents Cups.

"I've been involved in the Ryder Cup since 2006, and I can tell you, without a doubt, that Davis Love III's passion for the event is unmatched," Johnson said in a statement.

The 2023 Ryder Cup will head to Marco Simone Golf and Country Club in Rome from Sept. 29 to Oct. 1. Luke Donald is the captain of Team Europe, with Nicolas Colsaerts, Thomas Bjorn, and Edoardo Molinari as his previously named vice captains.
