Tony Finau was forced to withdraw from the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open on Tuesday after testing positive for COVID-19, the PGA Tour announced.

Finau's result came during the Tour's screening at TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas, the site of this week's tournament.

"I am feeling well, and am otherwise in good spirits," Finau said on Twitter.

"I look forward to returning to action as soon as I am able, and I wish everyone at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open a great week ahead!" he added.

Bronson Burgoon will replace Finau in the field.

Finau has contracted the Tour's first case of COVID-19 since Scottie Scheffler and Sam Horsfield withdrew from the U.S. Open.
