Swafford carries 2-shot lead into weekend in Dominican Republic
Hudson Swafford shot a 5-under 67 on Friday to break away from the pack of co-leaders and carry a two-shot lead into the weekend at the Corales Puntacana Resort and Club Championship.
Swafford shared the lead with three others after firing 65 in Round 1 but pulled ahead with a seven-birdie performance in the second, including three straight to close his round.
He'll look to capture his second win on the PGA Tour and first since the 2017 CareerBuilder Challenge.
Tour veteran Sean O'Hair, Luke List, and Justin Suh are among those chasing Swafford.
The 23-year-old Suh is a former No. 1-ranked amateur who turned professional around the same time as fellow highly touted college prospects Collin Morikawa, Matthew Wolff, and Viktor Hovland - all three have won on the PGA Tour.
Here's how the top of the leaderboard stands after Round 2:
Place | Player | To Par | R2 Score |

Henrik Stenson - the top-ranked player in the field - safely made the 3-under cut by shooting a 69 on Friday.
Corey Conners, defending champion Graeme McDowell, Charles Howell III, and 18-year-old Akshay Bhatia are among those who missed the cut.
