The Memorial Tournament will be the first event on the PGA Tour's restart schedule with spectators in attendance, the event announced on Friday.

"Thanks to state approval and support from the PGA Tour, patrons will be permitted to attend the 45th edition of the Memorial," the tournament hosted by Jack Nicklaus wrote on Twitter.

The event is set to begin on July 16 at Muirfield Village in Dublin, Ohio. It is scheduled as the sixth tournament on the calendar once play resumes on June 11 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Details on safety protocols, including the number of fans allowed on the grounds, will come at a later date.

Initially, the PGA Tour pegged the first four events on the restart schedule to be played without fans. However, after the John Deere Classic was canceled, the replacement event, which will also be played at Muirfield the week prior to the Memorial, was added to the list of tournaments where fans will be prohibited.
