PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan is forgoing his salary indefinitely in response to the coronavirus pandemic, according to Golfweek's Eamon Lynch.

Additionally, the senior management team will be taking 25% pay cuts, while salaries for all other Tour employees will be frozen at 2019 levels.

Monahan, who succeeded Tim Finchem as commissioner in 2017, apparently informed the PGA Tour’s board about his decision this week.

In the PGA Tour’s tax filing for 2017, Monahan was paid $3.9 million including bonuses and incentive payments, and his current compensation is believed to be higher, according to Lynch.

The Players Championship was canceled after one round on March 13 and the Tour has since abandoned eight scheduled events while postponing three. The organization has also pulled the plug on events on its five other Tours, which include the PGA Tour Champions and the Korn Ferry Tour. In total, 17 tournaments have been canceled and 20 have been postponed.
