Matsuyama cards course-record 63 in Round 2 to lead BMW Championship
Hideki Matsuyama fired a 9-under 63 in Round 2 of the BMW Championship on Friday to set the new course record at Medinah Country Club and take a one-shot lead into the weekend.
The Japanese star's bogey-free, nine-birdie performance broke the record at the Chicago-area course by two shots. He's yet to make a bogey through 36 holes.
The 27-year-old is looking for the sixth win of his PGA Tour career and first since the 2017 WGC-Bridgestone Invitational.
