Bryson DeChambeau responded to the firestorm over his slow play in an Instagram post on Monday.

"Slow play affects the quality of the game for both players and our fans and I've always had the utmost respect for my playing partners, including JT and Tommy," DeChambeau said. "I'm constantly trying to improve and I will do my very best to improve my pace. Golf is my passion and livelihood. It's my responsibility to help improve the game to be more enjoyable for all.

"Pace of play has been an issue for golf at all levels for a long time, and I'm committed to being a part of the solution, not the problem," he continued. "I want to be a good representative of the game and the PGA Tour and I (am) looking forward to working with the Tour and fellow players to find a solution to slow play."

DeChambeau was heavily criticized after videos surfaced of him taking over two minutes to hit two separate shots during Friday's second round at The Northern Trust. One of the lengthy clips was of DeChambeau lining up an eight-foot putt, which he eventually missed.

The 25-year-old initially called the videos and the reaction to them on Twitter - where a number of fellow competitors voiced their complaints - "an attack." He also deemed it "not fair" that he was being cast as the player who's killing the game.

On Sunday, the PGA Tour announced it was going to review its current pace-of-play policy due to the DeChambeau videos and explore the possibility of addressing players who take an excessive amount of time to hit their shot.

DeChambeau revealed he'll be meeting with the Tour and is ready to turn the page.

"I'll be meeting with the PGA Tour this week and am excited to focus on a great week of golf at the BMW Championship," he added.
